Our Objectives

  • To conduct needs-based research and training in the areas of health, education and social development.

 

  • To create positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged groups through strengthening health service delivery and enabling access to education in Bangladesh.

 

  • To collaborate with government organizations and other stakeholders to achieve Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), emphasizing on improving maternal health, reducing neonatal mortality, combating HIV and other communicable diseases, and increasing access to primary education.

Governance Structure

ARK Foundation believes in transparency, accountability, ethics and good governance in running it activities. It has well laid down governance structure comprising of General Council, Executive Committee and Advisory Board. Seven members Executive Committee is responsible for undertaking and executing the organization plan, program and activities. The Executive Committee is formed through consensus of General Council members for two years. Executive Committee has Chairman, Secretary cum Executive Director, Treasurer and four members. The committee shall have meetings as and when required with at least one meeting in each quarter. Chairman will chair the Executive Committee and General Council meetings. Executive Director is authorized to manage and operate the Foundation’s activity who is assigned with executive authority. General Council is consisting of twenty one general members for two years. General Council shall meet once in a year to endorse plan, programme and activities of the Foundation. Advisory Board shall be formed by at least three general members or any competent external person. Advisory Board members shall advice the Executive Committee or Executive Director in operational aspects in line with their area of expertise.

ARK Foundation is managed by a set of policies and guidelines focusing on Governance, Finance, procurement and operations. Executive Committee approves these policies and Executive Director ensure adherence to these policies.

For multi-year large projects, a Project Management Board (PMB) to be formed involving development partner and ARK member and Small projects are managed by the core team of ARK Foundation.
