The SCIMITAR-SA project addresses tobacco dependence among people with Severe Mental Illness (SMI) in South Asia. The project aims to test a tailored tobacco cessation intervention delivered through mental health facilities in Bangladesh.

Number of Positions: 2 (1 based at NIMH, Dhaka and 1 based at TMSS, Bogra)
Duration: 6 months
Working Days: 6 days per week

Reports to: SCIMITAR-SA Trial Coordinator, ARK Foundation and Respective Facility Manager

Responsibilities
  • Data collection from participants, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborating closely with hospital staff to facilitate project activities.
  • Coordinating regularly with the SCIMITAR-SA research team to report progress and challenges.
  • Managing logistics at the assigned site, including scheduling and organizing activities.
  • Ensuring ethical standards and confidentiality are maintained during all data collection and research activities.
  • Utilizing digital data collection tools (e.g., REDCap, KoBo) effectively.
  • Assisting with documentation, including maintenance of records and reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Anthropology, or relevant Social Science discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience working with digital data collection platforms such as REDCap or KoBo Toolbox.
  • Prior experience in public health research, preferably related to mental health or tobacco control.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bangla, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including healthcare providers and researchers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Benefits

Salary: 20,000 -25,000 (Depending on qualification and experience)
