About the organization:
ARK Foundation is a non-government organization dedicated to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh. Through evidence-based research, training and communications, it provides sustainable solutions for health, education and social development. Since its inception in 2013, ARK Foundation has been working closely with Government organizations, national and international NGOs, universities, and development partners to achieve its vision and mission. As a research NGO, we are working in the fields of health research, health system strengthening, urban health, mental health and tobacco control.
ARK Foundation is looking for a Research Assistant/Senior Research Assistant (Qualitative) who will support their ongoing projects in qualitative stream of the project.
Responsibilities:
As a Research Assistant/ Senior Research Assistant (Qualitative), you will:
- Conduct qualitative field research activities including FGDs/KIIs/IDIs/case studies/participatory research; and checking transcripts against recordings.
- Assist in analyzing qualitative data under supervision
- Contribute in developing research proposals and funding applications
- Contribute to develop research reports/articles/concept notes/policy briefs, or necessary relevant documents.
- Assist to prepare ethical clearance documentation for new studies
- Prepare translation and transcription tasks, as needed
- Assist to prepare various types of reviews when necessary; such as literature review, desk review, scoping review, systematic review, etc.
- Attending meetings, take notes, prepare meeting minutes, and summarize reports from workshops, conferences, forums, and seminars.
- Support in liaison activities with various stakeholders and donors, as needed
- Provide general administrative, communication, and logistical support, as needed
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Anthropology/Public Health/ Development Studies or other related Social Science Disciplines.
- At least 1 to 2 Years of solid relevant experience in research-oriented fields including conducting qualitative data collection, coding, analysis independently.
- Proficient using NVIVO and conducting different qualitative analysis methods.
- Have working understanding on implementation science and participatory research methods/approaches.
- A strong desire to learn and pursue a research-oriented career in public health.
- Excellent English writing skills; especially for academic writing.
- Must be proactive, able to work with minimal supervision and enthusiastic to perform field-based activities.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, time management skills and teamwork.
- Must be a team player with excellent organizational skills.
- Must have excellent communication (written and spoken) skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
