Sr. Research Associate / Research Associate
Description

Note on candidate preference: Given the clinical focus of COPE-BP, candidates holding an MBBS or equivalent medical degree are strongly preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

Qualitative Research Coordination

  • Coordinate day-to-day qualitative research activities for the COPE-BP project, including participant recruitment, scheduling, and conducting interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs)
  • Oversee fieldwork coordination, data management, and participant follow-up
  • Recruit, train, and supervise field researchers, and manage day-to-day data collection activities

Data Analysis

  • Contribute to qualitative data analysis, including coding, codebook development, identification of themes and patterns, interpretation of findings, and preparation of analytical summaries

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Contribute presentations and updates for weekly/monthly team meetings and Project Management Group (PMG) meetings
  • Maintain regular communication with the wider project team via WhatsApp and other agreed channels for timely updates, coordination, and follow-up

Research Materials Development

  • Collaborate with the project team to develop and refine research protocols, topic guides, interview/FGD tools, training materials, data collection procedures, and other study documents

Dissemination Support

  • Support preparation of research outputs, including reports, presentations, manuscripts, conference abstracts, and policy briefs.

 

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate research documentation and an audit trail — qualitative data, field notes, consent documentation, training records — ensuring secure and appropriate storage

Team Contribution

  • Participate actively in team meetings and problem-solving, identifying field implementation challenges and proposing practical solutions to maintain research quality and timelines
Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree strongly preferred, given the clinical focus of COPE-BP
  • Experience in qualitative or mixed-methods health research
  • Experience conducting or supporting in-depth interviews (IDIs), key informant interviews (KIIs), and focus group discussions (FGDs)
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals, patients, community members, or other health-sector stakeholders
  • Sound understanding of qualitative research principles — coding, thematic analysis, reflexivity, and quality assurance
  • Experience coordinating field researchers and supporting research training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork and project-related activities within Bangladesh
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis software (NVivo, MAXQDA, or ATLAS.ti)
  • Experience preparing research reports, manuscripts, presentations, or policy briefs

  • Salary: 60-80 thousand Taka
