On October 30th, CHORUS successfully hosted the webinar and panel discussion titled “From Fragmentation to Harmonisation: Strengthening Urban Health Systems through Provider Partnerships and Collaboration.” The session explored how cities can build stronger and fairer health systems, particularly for underserved urban communities.
Chaired by Prof. Helen Elsey, CHORUS Co-Director from the University of York, the discussion brought together public health leaders from Bangladesh, Ghana, Nepal, and Nigeria. Dr. Khaleda Islam, former Director of Primary Healthcare at DGHS Bangladesh, Dr. Andrews Ayim of Ghana Health Services, Mr. Subash Bastola from Pokhara Metropolitan City in Nepal, and Mr. Ikedichukwu Emmanuel Ayogu from Enugu State Primary Healthcare Development Agency in Nigeria shared their experiences on how linking formal, private, and informal providers can improve health access for urban poor populations.
The webinar launched the new CHORUS series, “From Evidence to Impact,” which highlights how research can inform better-designed and more equitable urban health systems. To learn more about CHORUS, visit chorusurbanhealth.org.
