On November 11, 2024, ARK Foundation researchers conducted a workshop titled ‘Patient and Public Participation in Tobacco Cessation and Tuberculosis Prevention’ at Shaheed Ahsanullah Master General Hospital in Tongi, Dhaka. This Community Engagement Program, based on RESPIRE’s Quit4TB Trial, aimed to connect tobacco cessation efforts with tuberculosis prevention.
The event brought together notable attendees, including the hospital’s Director, Assistant Director, doctors, and healthcare workers involved in TB care, who shared insights with an audience of TB patients and professionals from various development organizations.
The workshop explored the root causes of tuberculosis and its connections to tobacco use, fostering discussions where participants shared their experiences and challenges in managing TB. This initiative reflects ARK Foundation’s decade-long dedication to research and advocacy, advancing TB prevention and treatment efforts across Bangladesh.
